What to check
Patterns worth noticing in any job search tool's privacy policy.
- A "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" toggle. Under California privacy law, that setting exists because selling or sharing is the default unless you opt out. If a tool has one, read what it's opting you out of.
- A carve-out for third-party ad or analytics vendors. Some privacy policies explicitly state they don't cover data collected by embedded advertisers or analytics providers, which means tracking is happening that the company disclaims responsibility for.
- Affiliate or referral tracking pixels. Common on tools that run affiliate programs. They're not inherently harmful, but they are a form of cross-site tracking most users don't expect on a resume tool.
- Data collection beyond what the tool needs. A resume checker doesn't need your precise GPS location or a government ID number to cross-reference a resume against a job description. If a policy lists fields like that, ask why.

Questions
Is JobForte a privacy-first alternative to Teal, Huntr, or Jobscan?
JobForte was built specifically not to need the trade-offs those tools ask you to accept. Your resume is entered in your browser and never stored on JobForte's servers; it's sent to our AI provider only when you request an analysis, for no other purpose. There is no advertising, no ad tracking cookies, and no affiliate tracking pixels anywhere on the site.
Does JobForte sell or share my personal data?
No. JobForte does not sell or share personal data with third parties, for advertising or any other purpose, and has no mechanism to do so because none exists in the product. There is nothing to opt out of.
What should I check in a job search tool's privacy policy?
A few patterns are worth checking for. A "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" toggle exists because, under California privacy law, that means selling or sharing is the default behavior unless you opt out. A policy that explicitly excludes responsibility for third-party advertisers or analytics vendors embedded on the site means tracking happens there that the company itself disclaims. And a resume tool asking for data it doesn't need to function, like precise location or identification numbers, is worth a second look at why.
What analytics does JobForte use?
Cloudflare Web Analytics only: cookieless, privacy-first, used for performance monitoring and abuse mitigation. No advertising network, no cross-site tracking, no session replay.
